This week we revisit the light curve for the star 2MASS J20522802+4403311. We looked at it about one year ago in week 282 and found it to be an Orion type variable. These are objects whose variations are stochastic on all sorts of timescales.
In the above plot we can see that in the last year and a bit, the object has undergone some large variations – almost 2mag in brightness. Indeed, for a few weeks it has been at its faintest since we have started observing it. There are still some gaps in the data near MJD=60000. These are caused by the database outage, and the data are not lost, just don’t get automatically extracted from the different parts of the database. We have now written a code that combines all the data we have, and hopefully from next week onwards, we can show full light curves with all HOYS data available.
It will take a little bit longer to make these also available for searching on the website, but steady progress on that is made ….
