We return to an old friend of this feature, the Orion type variable 2MASS J20505039+4450115 in the Pelican nebula target region. We looked at this object several times before, the last time in week 181. There we had seen that the star had undergone an at least 4.5yr long dimming event with varying depth (up to 3mag deep).
In the above plot we show the last 2.5yr of V, R, and I-band of the object. We can see that the source returned to its ‘bright’ state about 2yr ago. This would make the dimming event about 5.5yr long in total. However, the source has quickly faded again. Initially by 3mag and is now about 1mag fainter than the ‘bright’ state. Thus, maybe there is no real ‘bright’ state and the source just constantly fluctuates within the range we have now observed.
