This week we look at another background giant star. The long term variable V582Cep in the NGC7129 field. We investigated the light curve of this star previously in week 107.

We only show the V-band data of the last 600 days. While there are a few outliers in the photometry, one can nicely see how the brightness of the source varies on timescales of a few months by up to almost one magnitude. The source always seems to remain in this brightness range, but there is no discernible pattern to the variations. Well, at least not one to the naked eye 😉
