This week we remain in the NGC2264 cluster and look at the star OT Mon. It is situated (in projection) close to  the Cone Nebula to the South of the main cluster.

We show the V, R, and I-band light curve of the star for the last observing season (2024-2025). Note that the R and V magnitudes are shifted as indicated in the legend for more clarity.

This part of  the light curve shows a longer dimming event, lasting about 100 days. In this case the star dimmed by almost 2.5 magnitudes in the Visual filter. In addition to this main event there are other, shorter and lower amplitude changes in the brightness just about visible in the ‘baseline’ brightness at the start and end of the observing period.
