This week we finally show a light curve again 🙂 The object is V1787Ori, just south or the Orion Nebula in the L1641N target field.
In the image above we show the V, R, and I-band data from the last winter. You can see there are a lot of points, as it is close to M42, and we established last week that you all like that one :-).
Note we have shifted the magnitudes a bit (see legend on the image) to shorten the gap between the different filters. The star appears very red, thus is has large magnitude differences between the redder and bluer filters.
While there are some outliers, we can see quite a lot of real variation on longer and shorter timescales. The latter one might look like noise, but is actually real variability because it is correlated in the different filters.
