This week we show the light curve of the young star MO Mon. It is situated in a small dark globule right next to the Cone Nebula, which is part of the Christmas Tree Cluster / NGC2264 target region of HOYS.
We show the V and R band data in plot above, for 120 days over the last winter. Like many of the young stars, we can identify some deep dimming events of up to 1.5mag as well as shorter term smaller variations.
The star is showing these dips at semi-regular intervals over the entire light curve. It is one of the candidate sources where it is worth carefully checking if some of these events occur indeed periodically….
